Ellis Ross -- star on the TV series Black-ish -- to host the 2017 American Music Awards, where her mom Diana Ross will also receive the Lifetime Achievement award

Tracee Ellis Ross -- star on the TV series Black-ish -- to host the American Music Awards on Sunday November 19, 2017 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

In addition to Ellis Ross hosting the event, her mother singer Diana Ross will also be honored at the event with the "Lifetime Achievement award". Diana Ross is also scheduled to sing at the event, with other artists that include: Selena Gomez, Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato and Niall Horan.

Ellis Ross has also recently launched a clothing collection in partnership with J.C. Penney. During an interview on the Ellis Ross said the 45-piece collection was designed “for everybody and every body”, adding: "I truly believe that looking good does not have to cost a lot”.

Prior to getting into acting, Ellis Ross worked in the fashion industry for years as a fashion editor and stylist. Inclusively she said during the interview: “I’ve always dreamt of creating a line, since high-school”.
